Exposure: Britain’s Hidden Hunger airs tonight on ITV

This new documentary in ITV’s award-winning Exposure current affairs strand follows three families who are struggling to feed their children at a time when in Britain, the world’s fifth largest economy, an estimated 14 million people – including four million youngsters – are living in poverty. Cameras follow the families as they navigate their way through the summer, a time when increasing pressure is put on those already struggling with rising living costs because those entitled to a free school meal are left without. This programme goes inside the families’ daily routines – including going to food banks, and even relying on donated food to provide a vivid insight into the increasing challenges of raising a family on the breadline – even while working every possible hour.
